Overcoming Jet Lag: Rosevine Style

The Rosevine - A hidden gem
I have often heard it’s what you do immediately following a long-haul airline flight which has a direct effect on your body’s ability to acclimate to your new environment. For example, it is generally agreed that travellers should adopt the time and lifestyle of the destination they have flown to. I find this excellent advice. But now I think I can take that a little further.
Last night, I flew from New York to London (nine hours) and then immediately boarded a train taking me from London to Plymouth (3.5 hours) on the Devon/Cornwall border. On arrival in Plymouth rail station, I picked up my car rental and proceeded to drive (90 minutes) to the Roseland Peninsula. Now I think this qualifies as an opportunity to experience the most extreme symptoms associated with jet-lag: failure to stay awake, loss of appetite; and, of course my favourite, disorientation. Having accomplished the above in a little under 20 hours, I felt confident that my condition would qualify as jet lag.
This is where The Rosevine fits in. Tim & Hazel Brocklebank have created a Cornish idyll perfect for couples and families who want to experience a truly wonderful Cornish holiday. In short, this is the Cornwall you read about in guidebooks and travel magazines and for many people it is sadly only a dream. Glorious tall cliffs hugging the coast, sandy beaches and coves and stunning gardens coupled with fabulous dining establishments featuring the freshest seafood. I will leave you with that image.
Perhaps I am doubly-lucky for The Rosevine also provides the perfect setting for testing a new theory on jet-lag prevention. Within minutes of getting settled into my very comfortable room in the newly opened Slate Hosue with its private patio and garden, I decide to explore as a means of getting my bearing and overcoming some of the disorientation I mentioned above.
And then in three simple steps taking less than 30 minutes not only do I thing I have avoided haivng jet-lag but just the opposite I feel exhilarated and energised. What a way to start a holiday and I commend it to you.

Step 1: Take in the staggering view

Step 2: Feel the staggering view (It

Step 3: Contemplate where life has taken you to arrive at this staggering view.
