It’s not every day that I get to be a tourist attraction – in fact, let’s be real, never.
Well, this afternoon an out-of-town visitor to London took a photo of me as I was passing by Regent’s Park. Actually, I rather suspect he was snapping at the bike I was riding and my being there was purely incidental. Last Friday marked the introduction of the first ever #Frifotos, short for ‘Friday Photo Forum’, a weekly virtual gathering using the widely popular Twitter social-media platform. Each Friday at 1100 EST (1600 GMT), Twitter users have the chance to post relevant pictures that match the weekly subject matter as part of their tweets. The AA Hospitality Awards are one of the major events in the travel industry’s calendar. The AA selects winners “in recognition of excellence and success within their chosen category, having shown a significant improvement in the preceding 12 to 18 months and proving their dedication to raising industry standards and enhancing both their guest and diner experiences.”

Waterford Castle held their All-Island Open Day on July 18th and it included a BBQ, family gardens games, children’s entertainment, face painting, bouncy castle and live music. The main event was their 2nd 5K Island Run.
Almost 300 runners took part and among them were newly married couple Susan & Allan Crowley who celebrated their big day that same weekend. In the spirit of the Fun Run Susan wore her wedding veil and bouquet and Shane wore his wedding shirt and cravat
